Trade Union Acts, 1871-1990
Notice is hereby given that the Registrar of Friendly Societies has pursuant to Section 8 of the Trade Union Act 1876, by writing under her hand dated 7th November 2022 cancelled the Certificate of Registry of the following Trade Unions.
| Registration Number | Name and Registered Office |
| 466T | National Union of Sheet Metal Workers of Ireland U.C.A.T.T. House, 56 Parnell Square West Dublin 1 |
| 435T | Irish Taxi and Hackney Owners Association 9/10 Hanover Street East Dublin 2 |
| 482T | The Cork Master Butchers’ Association 14 Douglas Shopping Centre Cork |
| 495T | Irish Commercial Horticultural Association Irish Farm Centre Naas Road Bluebell Dublin 12 |
| 520T | Seamen’s Union of Ireland 61 North Strand Road Dublin 3 |
| 537T | Retail Jewellers of Ireland 29 Annesley Bridge Road Fairview Dublin D03 TNS6 |
| 573T | Dublin Institute of Technology Academic Staff Association David McCarthy Dublin Institute of Technology Kevin Street Dublin 8 |
| 593T | Union of Motor Trade, Technical and Industrial Employees 27 South Frederick Street Dublin 2 |
The ground of such cancelling is that the Trade Unions have wilfully and after notice from me, violated the provisions of, the above-mentioned Acts, and in particular section 16, of the Trade Union Act 1871, in that the Trade Unions have failed to transmit annual returns to the Registrar.
The Trade Unions cease to enjoy the privileges of registered trade unions, but without prejudice to any liability actually incurred by such Trade Unions, which may be enforced against the same as if the cancelling had not taken place.
In respect of trade unions that held a negotiation licence, cancellation of the certificate of registration also means that the negotiation licence ceases to have effect.
Maureen O’Sullivan
